I believe this is what started the whole 'W' = double craze. This spunky little duo are part of the Hello Project - basically a production line of all girl pop groups in Japan. These two are (apparent) singers and dancers whose music is saccharine beyond belief. It's more like a parody of pop music to me... but don't underestimate their impact on the language!
